Ceramic Media Replacement
Ceramic Media Change Outs - Regenerative and Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizers uses structured
honeycomb, ceramic balls and saddles. Newer ceramic media in the form of structured monolithic
blocks are now the preferred heat sink. This newer media can act as a replacement or addition to the
heat sink material reduces the auxiliary fuel requirement.

Ceramic saddles reduces the amount of potential plugging which may occur due to particulate matter
over extended operations. Should the process require ceramic saddles, different sizes may be used to
effect the heat recovery.

Should your process gases allow for the use of structured honeycomb ceramic media, it will be
important that the structured ceramic media be placed in such a way that air channeling around the
structured ceramic media bed doesn't occur. Channeling reduces the overall system thermal
efficiency and increases operational costs.

American Environmental Fabrication and Supply (AEFS) will individually cut the structured ceramic
media blocks and hand place each honeycomb monolithic block to fit perfectly within the heat
recovery chamber to reduce fuel costs and emissions. Monolithic blocks create the best laminar
process flows while offering the highest thermal efficiency. By replacing ceramic saddles with
honeycomb monolithic blocks a large reduction in fuel consumption may be achieved making
honeycomb media the preferred choice for most operations.

Should you need to increase process flows monolithic structured ceramic media will offer the very best
solution for lowing system pressure drop while increasing process flows through the heat recovery
chamber. Honeycomb structured ceramic media is the preferred  choice with clean waste-gas streams
with minimal particulate matter.

media for your process stream or simply replace the same product if it is preferred.

We offer repair services on all regenerative thermal oxidizers. When installing structured ceramic
media, each honeycomb block is hand placed with any open areas filled with cut honeycomb ceramic
media block,
we do not fill gaps with saddles or ceramic fiber insulation!
